W&W Stenciled Leaves

I need a card for a friend going through a sad time, so decided to make something I can enter in the Winnie & Walter BD Bash Challenges which are about to close.

I used the Leaf Effect die to make a stencil.  The coloring was done with several green Zigs & a waterbrush.  I left the stencil in place & when it dried I covered the panel with translucent paste.  Had to wait for that to dry & then added more color with the Zigs between the leaves.

Kind of a fun, artsy look, I think.  The SSS hugs die was stacked three high using the bottom one for a shadow.  The top one was covered with Wink of Stella.  I attached some silver thread behind the word before adding it to the panel.  The card front was covered with the same green cardstock I used for the word.  Finished off with 3 green sequins.  The word die has four letters, so I'm entering the Four Challenge.  My stencil made from the leaves die & the word die cut let me also enter the Die Challenge.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Edited to add: Also entering Anything Goes at SSS Wednesday.

PRS Create it Wednesday~Gift Bag

It's my day on the Precious Remembrance Shop blog & my project this time is a gift bag.  The shop sells kraft & white bags along with other great products like beautiful hand dyed buttons.  I started by making a double tag.  Several of the encouraging sentiments in the Daily Thoughts stamp set were lined up on an acrylic block & stamped repeatedly in brown ink on a white die cut rectangle.  At the bottom I overstamped two leaves from the DIY stamp set in Brilliance Pearlescent Olive ink & added a little wooden star.

The tag was attached at an angle to a vellum die cut rectangle.  I used a brown twine bow & a little white clothespin to add the tag at the top of the bag.

Little star clusters from Daily Thoughts were stamped randomly in kraft ink around the tag.  Now it's ready to fill with treats, a paperback book or maybe a stamp set.  Hope you've enjoyed seeing my stamping project that isn't a card.

Time for a Christmas Card

I planned to include my entry for SSS Flickr Challenge 91 & Rudolph Days in my last post, but I just wasn't happy with it.
Original Version
I purposely didn't make a watercolor frame, but this morning I decided to see if that was what it needed.  I carefully removed the tree & used the same blue Zig I used to color the tree on the frame die cut from Bristol paper.
Remake
So much better, but decided it could also use a little something.  I added a very old HA white felt snowflake & a gem.  Now I can actually send it to someone this year--yah!  The tree die cut is SSS Color Me Trees cut from Bristol paper & colored with blue & green Zigs blended with a waterbrush.

I added Frosted Lace Stickles & pounced it with my finger so there aren't any lines.  The frame is SSS Holiday Frames & the embossing folder is Taylored Expressions Snowfall.  I'm also entering CCCB.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Winnie & Walter

Time is running out for the W&W Challenges, so these may be my last 2 cards.  Gotta say--I really had fun with these two!
First is my card combining the Shaker Challenge, the Comeback (CASE) Challenge (Lydia's card March 17, 2017) & the Die Challenge
I started by stamping a black & white panel using images from In Bloom: Addie's Garden & In Bloom: Renee's Leaves.  Since I love pink with black & white (or anything else!) I used a variety of pink sequins & PPP star confetti for the shaker mix.  My favorite In a Word: Hello was die cut twice & the top layer was covered with Nuvo Crystal Glaze.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.

Next is a card combining Rerun No 27 inspired by Heather H's rainbow balloons card, the Repetitive Stamping Challenge & the Watercoloring with a Twist Challenge
I stamped the flower from In Bloom: Addie's Garden on a panel of Bristol paper using black Versafine.  I added color with Zigs Wine Red, Orange, Yellow, May Green, Persian Blue & Violet.  My twist is the addition of white dots using my extra fine Sharpie.  The sentiment is from Penny Black's every happiness & I finished off with black splatters & PPP clear dots.  I'm also entering SSS Monday.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Wet & windy here & I know a lot of the country is dealing with floods, severe weather, ice or snow.  Makes it a great day for the PTI Blog Hop!  Just look at that pretty Springy inspiration photo!
I don't have any PTI Easter sets, but was inspired by the green & white in the photo.  My card will have an Easter greeting inside, so it does fit the theme.
The white linen card is made with a die from Don't Forget to Write & I attached a square of Soft Stone to the center.  A wreath from Wreath For All Seasons was stamped in Vintage Jadeite on a square of Mint Julep.  I used Nuvo Drops for the berries & sprayed the panel with Perfect Pearls which makes a big difference in person.  Finished off with a bow of crochet thread & a little flag stamped with a word from Tiny Tags.  I actually like the panels attached flat for this card which means it might go overseas to a blogging friend.  I'm also entering WAW.  Enjoy the hop & thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Your Kindness

I have some frame dies coming in my PTI order.  To make an entry for the PTI MIM framing challenge I pulled out 2 of my very old Spellbinders die sets to create a pretty frame.  I think I'll cut a few more before I untape the dies as I do love the look.
The ferns from Meadow Greens were inked in Simply Chartreuse & Saffron Spice--using a little sponge to blend the colors.  Then I overstamped each image in Delicata Golden Glitz.  The sentiment from the same set was stamped in Brilliance Pealescent Chocolate.  I sponged the green inks onto the frame, added gold to the edges & attached it to a second one for just a bit of dimension.  Don't faint--talked myself out of adding splatters--haha!  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday & WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Christmas and Anniversary

I'm feeling almost back to my old self.  Thanks so much for all the well-wishes.  Our weather has finally turned wintry--at least as far as the temps go.  We may even get a little snow tonight, which would actually be fun since Fritz would enjoy running around in it.
I've had an idea for a card to enter in the W&W Four Challenge & finally gave it a try.  You know how I love making Christmas cards, so I'm a happy camper!
The flower from W&W In Bloom: Frenchy's Festive Florals was stamped in Memento Rhubard Stalk & the branches from the same set were stamped in SSS Stone.  I used my extra fine white Sharpie on the flower centers to make them stand out a bit more.  Haven't done the camouflage die cut technique for awhile & this might be my favorite so far!  The Wink of Stella on the word is so beautiful & I used PPP Sparkling Clear Confetti for embellishment.
I do love splatters, so couldn't resist adding tiny ones of the Rhubarb Stalk.  Told myself to open the card before die cutting the word, but would you believe I didn't?!  Where there's a will there's a way & sure enough, I saved it.  Just used lots of double sided tape to tape it shut & then attached it to a card.  Whew!  My card has several fours: flowers, branches, letters in the word & die cut word layers.  I'm also entering HLS Christmas challenge & WAW.
Edited to add: Almost forgot to enter W&W Die Challenge.

Next is an anniversary card I'm entering at Die Cut Divas & Poppystamps.  I recently won the new PS die called Triple Heart Twirl & had to try it out.
Using simple partial die cutting I got a row of 5 hearts which I backed with a very sparkly silver glitter paper scrap laying on my table.
I mounted it with foam tape to a card front covered with blue cardstock.  The sentiment is from a very old well-loved Hero Arts stamp set called Find Joy.  I really like the look of clear embossing powder over Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink.  Three PPP Sparkling Clear sequins were added for embellishment.  I'm also entering The Snippets Playground & Stamplorations.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Stripes

One final PTI Anniversary challenge left to enter:  Stripes.  I've barely used the stamps in the Don't Forget to Write kit, so pulled out the square with stripes to make a thank you card I need to mail on Tuesday.
I love the scalloped card die which I have used several times.  The square is stamped in Spring Rain.  The big word is stamped in Delicata Silvery Shimmer along with the small words which were over stamped along the bottom with Blueberry Sky.  The little image at the top was stamped in the silver & over stamped in Enchanted Evening.  Finished off with Nuvo silver glitter drops.  I got worried that people might not think my stripes were big enough to count, so I'm entering this card at WAW

I needed another card, so used my other idea to make stripes with images from Watercolor Wonder.  I used the same blue inks for the flowers from The Sweet Life, but couldn't get them to look true in the picture.  Actually they have more gray which I really like.
I'll enter this one in the PTI Stripes Challenge.  I used Delicata Silvery Shimmer for the stripes with Brilliance Starlite Black & Graphite Black for the leaves.  The sentiment from Take 3 Spring is stamped multiple times on a PTI vellum strip using Blueberry Sky.  The panel is die cut with AJVD dotted rectangle & the card front is covered with Blueberry Sky cardstock.  Needed a little something, so made a silver thread nest & added clear Nuvo glitter drops.  I'm also entering Stamping Sensations & SSS Wednesday.

Keep forgetting to share a picture of my new favorite backyard bird.
It's a Hairy Woodpecker that no longer flies away when Fritz & I go on the deck.  Isn't it beautiful?  Thanks for your patience as I continue to catch up on my blog reading.

Rainbow Birthday

Taking longer to recover than I expected.  The worst thing is that I can only use the computer for short periods of time making it very hard to catch up on leaving comments.  I was finally able to get a card made just in time for the PTI Anniversary Color Challenge.  Decided to use one of my neglected PTI products: Lovely Layers dies.
I used the rainbow color combo substituting Memento Love Letter for the Pure Poppy I don't have.  Sure glad I have the ImagineCrafts sponge daubers since the blending sponges are too big for this size stripes.  The embossing folder is one of my favorites: Anna Griffin Feather Illusion.  Boy did it change the look!  The little centers are covered with Stickles Star Dust & black Pico Embellisher dots.  The sentiment is from Heart-2-Heart #2 & it was great to use some of my huge stash of twine!  I'm also entering InkspirationalSSS Wednesday.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's time for another Create It Wednesday on the PRS Blog.  I made a fun wrapped card and included my first picture tutorial, so head to the blog if you're interested in more details.

PRS Val

I tend to shy away from partial die cutting, but just using a circle die like this is super easy.

PRS Val 2

I stamped the front of the white card with hearts from Love Coupon and Positive Thoughts stamp using Brilliance Pearlescent Coral which is actually a beautiful pink.

PRS Val 3

The inside is dry embossed with a tiny hearts folder & then I attached the white embossed cassette tape from the Daily Thoughts stamp set.  Fun to use a piece of lacey pink & white printed paper I've had for several years.  I added a couple sentiment strips from the Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces

PRS Val 4

The card is kept shut with a vellum strip which has a circle sentiment from  Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces.  A message can be written on the back of the pink cardstock.

PRS Val 6

Fun to do something a little different--hope I've inspired you to try it!  Be sure to check out all the great products in the Precious Remembrance Shop store and follow PRS on  Facebook , Pinterest , Instagram , & Youtube.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
PS--Thank you all for the well wishes.  I'm doing fine, but will take some time to get back to a normal schedule.  Thanks for your patience & I'll be by soon.
